COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY

The growth of a practice will be affected by the ability to balance both external and internal marketing. The stronger the practice the more the focus should be on internal marketing. An event that combines both internal and external marketing is a Community Appreciation Day.

The intent of a Community Appreciation Day is to 1) introduce more people in your community to chiropractic 2) to reactivate past patients and 3) to have a party for your current patients.

Some practices choose to donate to an organization that benefits from their Community Appreciation Day. I have done it both ways depending on the month of the event.

If you choose to benefit an organization I would recommend keeping it in the Chiropractic Family. Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center is a 37 year- old non-profit facility that is serving the severely damaged and challenged children with specific chiropractic care.

Tips on an Effective Community Appreciation Day

Focus on your purpose.

Have other colleagues and extra CA’s to assist.

Plan and prepare.

Have more of everything: more supplies, more energy.

Set goals and visualize the results.

Have all new patient paper work prepared, train on a higher volume of new patients than you are used to.

Schedule extra report time.

Utilize your community, exchange free advertising by having sponsors donate services and products to have their name in your ads and on your flyers. Have them post your flyers and pass them out to all their customers.

Schedule a regular Community Appreciation Day every quarter, have sponsors secure their participation for each event now.

Limit to one day, have food, fun and decorate the office.

Do not give out free adjustments. The benefit to the current patients is winning the door prizes, the food and fun, and the benefit to refer others at a limited cost.

The most new people we ever processed in one day were 42. It was a blast!

Every practice has different goals, decide what you want and then go for it, focused on your purpose and with the intent of making a contribution to your community.
